The Challenges of Rural Clinical Mental Health Counseling. A Comprehensive Overview and Analysis
In this study, rural and urban counselors from four states were surveyed to explore perceived differences in their mental health service delivery experiences in an attempt to better understand the unique challenges facing generalist counselors in today' s overstretched rural mental health marketplace. Issues examined include (a) a variety of service delivery issues plaguing professionals working in underserved rural communities, (b) ethical challenges facing the rural mental health professional, (c) specialized training needs of rural practitioners, and (d) job satisfaction and burnout risks confronting rural clinicians. In addition, Dr. Weigel reviews a variety of studies that have attempted to delineate the differences between rural and urban mental health service delivery. Daniel J. Weigel, Ph. An inquiry into sexual difference in Ernesto Spinelli's psychology. An Irigarayan critique and response to Ernesto Spinelli's psychology
He suggests that this will not only revitalize Spinelli' s version of existential phenomenology but also continue to adhere to its objective of challenging the cultural assumptions of our time. An analysis of his own therapeutic praxis reveals a blind spot in his work. Using Irigaray, Aloysius Joseph makes the case that Spinelli’s therapeutic praxis can benefit from paying attention to a perceptual and a sensory economy that is rooted in the client’s sexuate body and history. For her, sexual difference is the particular relation to the body and to language that structures inter-subjectivity. Ernesto Spinelli, a contemporary scholar-practitioner of existential phenomenological psychology is particularly attuned to the constitution of inter-subjectivity in therapeutic praxis. Philosopher-psychoanalyst Luce Irigaray claims that all inter-subjective relations are subtended by sexual difference and that forgetting this is ignoring a foundational aspect of human relations. This blind spot prevents him from realizing certain inter-subjective possibilities in his work with clients; namely, the possibilities afforded by articulating a specifically other.

Rebels Without a Cause?. Perpetrator Perspectives on Sexual Violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo
As soldiers in armed groups and in the army are often too poor to have a wife or a normal life, they re-establish their control by attacking other men' s women and securing their livelihood by taking women as slaves. At the group level, sexual violence could be seen as a weapon to exert domination over a community or a group and securing land. At the macro level, being a security threat and committing severe human rights violations might be the only and easiest way to be a part of the bargaining table and obtaining power at the state level. This is in combination with gender perspectives that favour men over women. However, there is little knowledge on what is causing this violence. The level of sexual violence in the eastern DRC has received significant media attention. This book will contribute to this debate by offering different explanatory perspectives using secondary literature and primary data. It is argued that some of the sexual violence at the individual level seem to be directly linked to the poor socio-economic development in the DRC.
