Описание:The results of the study seem to indicate the unique characteristics of multimedia-based learning environments might suppress or otherwise alter student-instructor relationships, achievement goals, self-efficacy, and optimum usage of help-seeking strategy. Participants self-reported perceptions and learning characteristics. A computer-based lesson on basic statistical concepts was completed to measure frequency of requested advisement and performance during instruction. Other results provided no evidence the independent variables significantly influenced the dependent variables. A significant relationship between frequency of advisement selection and learning achievement was found. The part experimental, part correlational research was conducted using 116 university undergraduate and graduate student volunteers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of perceived self-efficacy, achievement goals, instructor effectiveness, metacognitive help-seeking strategy, and advisor familiarity upon frequency of advisement selection and learning achievement in multimedia-based instruction.

The Columbia History of the British Novel

Realism persisted in the works of both Bennett and Wells only in that each felt obliged to respond to it. But they wielded the conventions of realism to opposite effects. H. G. Wells reworked the form he had inherited in the hope of achieving a greater realism, of extending the range of unrealities he might expose. Arnold Bennett, on the other hand, used realist conventions in order to subvert them. The coupling of Wells and Bennett as realists had less to do with the novels they wrote than with the image of the novelist they promulgated. The partly self-created public images of Wells and Bennett are worth examining in some detail. That the two most prominent serious novelists of the Edwardian period should be spoken of as one is not sur-659- prising; the names Wells and Bennett were frequently linked by the authors themselves. Wells sketches the dual portrait in his Experiment in Autobiography (1934): We were both about of an age; to be exact he was six months younger than I; we were both hard workers, both pushing up by way of writing from lower middle-class surroundings, where we had little prospect of anything but a restricted salaried life, and we found we were pushing with quite surprising ease; we were learning much the same business, tackling much the same obstacles, encountering similar prejudices and antagonisms and facing similar social occasions ...»

E-andragogy is a field of education that focuses on the adult online learners' technology, pedagogy, andragogy, epistemology, and instructional systems design that aim to deliver education to adult learners who are not physically "on site". E-andragogy involves the use of a computer and internet in some ways to provide educational learning environment and material. This research explored and examined how web-based distance education (WBDE) influenced adult learners then to learn about challenges and potential barriers of WBDE programs. WBDE has the goal to provide socio-technical innovations for E-learning practices, regarding individuals and organizations, independence of time, place and pace. In this research, a new term E-andragogy is created and defined. These discussions and conclusions in this research explored the adult learner' s perspectives and practices on WBDE; the barriers and challenges of WBDE were investigated, the recommendation were given; adult learners' suggestion and expectation on WBDE were concluded. Many studies have done on traditional distance education, but little research has done on WBDE for adult learners.
